Hyatt Opening Its First Hotel in Rio De Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: a world-renowned capital nestled among breathtaking mountain formations and white-sand beaches, grazed by the Atlantic Ocean. This internationally desired destination, located in one of the most indulgent and scenic settings of any metropolis in the world, will soon be home to the latest Grand Hyatt – slated to open in late 2015.
Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro is located in Barra da Tijuca, a vibrant neighborhood and one of Rio's hottest and most exclusive areas, famous for having the most beautiful stretch of beach in the city. Barra, as it is known by locals, is home to many luxury condominiums and large office complexes, and offers exclusive shopping, dining and cultural attractions. The extensive, pristine-like beach is one of its main highlights, popular for surfing, kite surfing and people watching. Guests will be able to explore and enjoy this charming area conveniently from the hotel's stunning beachfront location that overlooks the blue-green Atlantic Ocean, and is surrounded by the Marapendi Lagoon from behind. Special services are planned to make an ordinary sunny day at the beach an opportunity to experience the Carioca flair in an extraordinary way. This is just one of the many features that sets this hotel apart, making it a true Grand Hyatt experience.
Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro is also just a short distance from famous neighborhoods such as Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, while GaleĆ£o International airport is approximately a 50-minute journey.
The hotel's design concept is based on the idea of an urban resort – to blend the comfort and luxury services of a world-class hotel with the relaxing tranquility of a secluded beach resort. Yabu Pushelberg, the internationally acclaimed interior designer, created spaces that are airy, original and integrated with the surroundings to create a seamless bond between the design and the breathtaking natural settings to promote a truly extraordinary guest-experience. One of the project's highlights is its vast garden landscaping; an important initiative and commitment to recuperate and preserve the area's extensive native vegetation.
The 436 sophisticated rooms and suites have been contemporarily designed to create a tranquil retreat using a selection of natural woods, stones, soft-tone fabrics and local artwork to create a modern, comfortable residential environment with the cool casualness that Rio de Janeiro is famous for. Magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows and terraces allow amazing views of the natural beauty of the surroundings, setting the mood for relaxation and inviting guests to enjoy the moment with amazing ocean, garden or lagoon views.
The hotel's unique Food & Beverage concepts bring the renowned Hyatt expertise into uniquely designed and themed spaces, so visitors can experience world-class quality with strong local connections. Three signature restaurants designed by acclaimed Brazilian architect Arthur Casas – a Seafront restaurant serving Brazilian-inspired dishes, a Japanese restaurant and an Italian restaurant - will showcase gastronomic choices that highlight local flavors as well as bar and lounge areas to set the tone for guests to relax and enjoy the best of Brazil.
The exclusive spa at Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro was designed to be a true sanctuary retreat, offering nine private rooms with an array of relaxation, rejuvenation and beauty treatments. Specialty treatments developed with local techniques and native products will be available for a truly indigenous experience. Steam rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center, Movement Studio and outdoor pool complement the facilities, allowing guests to maintain exercise routines while travelling.
Over 2,000 square meters of flexible function spaces with leading technology make this hotel exceptional for hosting a meeting or event. Two elegant, multi-purpose ballrooms plus 9 sophisticated meeting rooms and spectacular outdoor pre-function areas will provide an extensive range of options for upscale meetings, conferences, social events and weddings of all sizes, both large and small. A dedicated team of event support staff, as well as professional and creative catering staff will be on hand to assist in all aspects of event planning and execution.
With its vibrant and stylish personality, nestled among some of Rio's most gorgeous natural settings, Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro will set the stage for guests from all over the world to enjoy an authentic and very Rio experience.
