Batman unmasks Sydney’s newest Bat Cave – Rydges Sydney Central – no Joker-ing!

With Gotham City now safe for citizens, Batman drove his Batmobile into Sydney for a little R&R and an opportunity for people to experience life in Robin’s seat.

Needing a place to hang up his latex suit, and a safe park for his Batmobile, Australia’s own Batman had little difficulty in selecting Rydges Central Sydney.

Even without Robin or Catwoman by his side, Batman was fully occupied during his weekend visit to Sydney’s dynamic new Central precinct.

Rydges Sydney Central GM, Blair Wallace, found that unlike teetotaller Bruce Wayne, the Oz Caped Crusader showed a distinct taste for Sydney Brewery’s beers on tap, chilling out with schooners of Surry Hills Pils, Paddo Pale and Sydney Cider before climbing up the wall of the hotel and sleeping off the excitement in his suite.

After an invigorating weekend in the city, the masked crusader promises to return to offer Sydneysiders and tourists a trip in the Batmobile, which is a hand-made replica of the vehicle used in Tim Burton’s 1989 blockbuster. It’s the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere, with its body panels spares from the original production.

The (Aussie) Batmobile’s owner and creator Zac Mihajlovic — who proudly wears his replica Batman suit and mask – says that he is offering tours ranging from 20 minute joyrides to four-hour marathons – BYO cape. Rates for the Batmobile start from $250, rates at Rydges Sydney Central start from $159 per night. Bookings –www.rydges.com or (02) 9289 0000
