New extended MSC brochure online

EXCITING EXPERIENCES IN MSC CRUISES' NEW 18-MONTH BROCHURE

An innovative series of pricing categories customised for different experiences is among the many highlights of the MSC Cruises new exciting 18-month online brochure.

It is the first time the major cruise line has launched such a long-term brochure – October 2014 until April 2016.

And to satisfy the needs of the budget conscious clients, the brochure carries an early bird program with savings from $200 per person up to $500 per person for passengers combining two cruises.

With the early bird special, prices for a seven-night Mediterranean cruise will begin at $679 per person, twin share.

The four experiences detailed in the brochure – Bella, Fantastica, Aurea and MSC Yacht – take their names from the current cabin categories and were created to "personalise a cruise holiday further than before."

"We really want to give travellers even more choices regarding their cruises, so that's where our experience pricing comes in," said Lynne Clarke, managing director of MSC Cruises Australia and New Zealand.

"With the ability to choose between 'Bella', 'Fantastica', 'Aurea', and 'MSC Yacht Club' experiences, cruisers are given the opportunity to personalise their holiday even further," she said.

"We urge people to start planning and booking from now considering this remarkable Early bird sale will end 31 August 2014."

Other features of new brochure, launched on Friday, June 6, include the exquisite dining options, the array of onboard entertainment, various cruise fares for families, groups, seniors, singles and the young guests (children under 18 years cruise free when sharing the same cabin with two paying adults).

Information on how to add one or more packages to the cruise, including an excursion packages as well packages for onboard drinks, spa and hotel selection before or after the cruise is also included.

MSC Cruises has also doubled the number of Grand Mediterranean cruises which combine two cruises and offer the free land transfer from Venice to Genoa or vice versa.

In addition, for the first time the Grand Mediterranean can also be 22-night cruise, from Venice or Genoa, with the free land transfer included in the price, allowing passengers to explore such hot spots as Istanbul, Santorini, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Piraeus, Marseille, Barcelona, Tunis, Sicily and more.

Demand for cruising with MSC Cruises is greater than ever before with the popular family cruise line recently signing an agreement with Italian ship-building company Fincantieri for an additional two ships with an option of a third ship, the value of the project €2.1 billion ($AUD3.2 billion).

The two new ships will strengthen the cruise line's global standing and lead the way for a new generation of cruise ships to be "completely different from an architectural point of view".

The first of the new megaships will be delivered in November 2017, the second in May 2018, each measuring 323 metres long by 41 metres wide with a height of 70 metres, catering for up to 5300 passengers in 2070 cabins.

This latest development came in the wake of MSC Cruises' signing of a two-ship order with STX France, with deliveries in 2017 and 2019. In addition, Fincantieri has begun work on "stretching" the first of four ships in the Lirica class (MSC Armonia) thus increasing each of these ship's capacity by 200 cabins.
