New Fine Dining Complex opens in Nizwa to cater to increasing number of tourists; The Cave set to open in Muscat this June

unnamed (7)Dar el Ezz, Nizwa’s first fine dining outlet opened last Thursday. The facility has been designed to cater to the increasing number of tourists who pass through the historic city en route to several of the tourism hot spots in and around the Al Dakhliyah governorate such as Nizwa Fort, Jabreen Castle and Bahla Fort..

A joint initiative by FTI and the Ministry of Tourism, the RO2mn (AUD$6mn) facility is spread over 3,690sq m and boasts of an international fine dining restaurant ‘Memories’; an open air coffee shop ‘Clouds’ serving Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine and a multi-purpose banquet hall, ‘Shahrayar’.

The complex incorporates a fort-like design to reflect Nizwa’s rich history. With a capacity of over 200 customers, ‘Memories’ sports a design reminiscent of Nizwa’s panoramic desert landscape and boasts of an outdoor terrace that is surrounded by waterfalls and rock structures. ‘Shahrayar’ can accommodate more than 600 customers and is equipped to host a variety of events. “We are launching today [May 15], and we already have bookings for 12 days in this month, which shows the scope and attraction of the banquet hall,” said P Dayaparan, General Manager, FTI.

Ibrahim bin Salim al Siyabi, Vice Chairman, FTI, said that as Nizwa is one of the country’s most historic wilayats it deserves unnamed (9)more such projects.

To create an authentic international culinary experience, FTI has hired over 60 experienced international staff from 20 countries. “We have attracted talents from all over the world, bringing a wealth of diversified experience and speaking a total of seven languages in addition to Arabic. The project foresees employment of about 45 Omanis, and they are being trained at the Oman Tourism College,” said Siyabi.

 The Cave in Muscat to open next month
 The Cave restaurant complex project in the wilayat of Darsait in Muscat will open on June 2. With a seating capacity of more than 2,000 customers, the facility boasts of eight restaurants, out of which five will be operated by Falcon for Tourism Investment (FTI). P Dayaparan, General Manager, FTI, said, “The restaurants are spread over two floors - three on each floor and two outdoors. The Italian restaurant will be operated by O Sole Mio, the Latino nightclub by Zouk and the Argentinian restaurant by 360°.”
