‘Taste’ the Delights of Macarthur this Autumn as Part of the Annual Taste Macarthur Program April 13 – 27, 2014

Camden Town Farm sunriseThe historic Macarthur region - the birthplace of Australia’s agriculture and wine industries – will celebrate its growing status as a haven of fine food and wine this autumn with a variety of events, activities and special deals on offer as part of the annual ‘Taste Macarthur’ program.

First pioneered by colonial entrepreneur John Macarthur in the 19th Century, the region provides the nearest farm country to Sydney, just 45 minutes from the CBD. More recently, the region’s vibrant multicultural mix has added a culture of international cuisine.
The two-week long ‘Taste Macarthur’ program will be held from April 13-27, 2014, and will embrace a range of events including:
* The AnnanROMA Food and Wine Festival at the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan -Macarthur in Autumn
April 13
* Pimms and Croquet at the Camden Valley Inn – Mondays to Fridays
* Live music at Melaleuca House – April 20
* Made in Macarthur Food and Wine Tour for parents and kids – April 24
* Produce Markets at Camden Town Farm – April 26
* Wine and Tapas at Gledswood Homestead – April 27
* Macarthur Progressive Wine Lunch at three of the region’s wineries – April 27
Special offers, including discounts of up to 40 per cent, are available during the two-week program at various restaurants, cafes and wineries throughout Macarthur including Camden, Narellan, Campbelltown, Leumah and Oran Park.
‘Taste Macarthur’ High Teas will also be available from cafes and restaurants across the region.
