Tourism Noosa General Manager Mr  Damien Massingham today said that the past couple of weeks had been amazing for Noosa with supporters, international media and of course the team this week being in Noosa.
"We have had some incredible media exposure with messages and images of Noosa throughout the international media via press, television, radio and social media and this type of exposure in our international market is priceless" Mr Massingham said.

"The whole community got behind the Lions being in Noosa with 'Noosa Welcomes British & Irish Lions and Supporters' street banners, posters, drink coasters and badges that were used in many establishments over the past few weeks. Tourism Noosa also hosted 40 plus international media for Welcome to Noosa sunset drinks overlooking Main Beach with many of the media saying it was without a doubt the best event of their stay in Australia."

"The finale in Noosa was the HSBC Giant Lions Jersey which made a special appearance on Noosa's Main Beach. Surrounded by over 500 supporters, the jersey was filmed by international, national and local media."

Tour Manager of the British & Irish Lions Mr Andy Irvine said "We would like to thank the Noosa community for their incredibly warm welcome and hospitality. The town has welcomed us from restaurants, to bars, the surf club to tour operators who have all extended some fantastic hospitality for us the team and the international media who are following the tour."

"A huge thanks also to the Noosa Dolphins Rugby Club who went to a great deal of effort to ensure the super condition of the training facilities" Mr Irvine said.

"Noosa has been the perfect place to recharge the batteries on our training, rest and recovery week - thanks to all concerned."
